A Day Not Fit For An Egg Hunt

Woke up this morning to ice.I took this picture looking out our front door.According to our weather forecast earlier this week today it was suppose to be in the mid 50's.That still would have been a rather chilly day for an egg hunt.Not the forecast looks like we will be lucky if it gets out of the 30's.It is 32 as I write this.

Our trees are covered ice.The ice is melting off of the trees and making a lovely sound.The roads are clear so it looks like only the trees were affected.

Had a nice time yesterday going on a shopping trip with our oldest daughter and her children.Wanted to go to either Target or Kohl's since we don't have either store in our area.We decided to head south to Bristol and go to Target.

We took a 4 lane highway down there that doesn't get much traffic.Our grandson wanted to come home by way of the Interstates.We knew that there has been traffic backups on Interstate 77 but didn't think that would happen on a busy weekend.Wrong!

Our daughter called the 511 number for traffic information.It said to take an alternate route due to the traffic backup.Did we listen..no!

We continued on and low and behold there was a traffic backup.We went 3 miles in 45 minutes.People were getting off of exits to go on the back road which was the main route before the interstate was built over 30 years ago.That is one very windy road up and down the mountains.Don't think the people knew what they were getting into.

We got off of one of the exits and saw that there was a backup on the back road.Thankfully our daughter knew to go the other direction on that road.It was a road that branched off of the old main route.We went out of our way but more than likely made better time than if we sat on the Interstate or took the old main route that was also backed up.

We were cruising down the road and came to a road block set up by the state patrol.We were thinking it was a Click It Or Ticket stop.They checked for our daughter's driver's license and made sure we were all buckled up.We were and always buckle up and have the grandchildren in a car seat and booster seat so all was fine.After reading this morning's newspaper I find out that they are still looking for a guy that shot at state trooper in a neighboring county Friday afternoon.That road block was also set up looking for that guy.

Since it was getting dark I really felt for those that got off on that old main road that went up and down the mountains.Those people probably wondered where they were and what they had gotten into.Hope they made it to their destinations fine.We saw mostly Ohio license plates on the Interstate so they would not be used to the mountain.Seems like they were playing follow the leader.When one headed for the exit others followed.

This is a hard one that I need to think about.Ten years ago we lived in Virginia and thinking about moving.We found a house and moved across the state line to West Virginia that August.Didn't have any grandchildren yet since our grandson will be turning 7 next month.



Five things on my to-do list today:
1.Wash a load of clothes before my grandson goes home.I like to send him home with clean clothes.
2.Enjoy some of the NASCAR race on TV with my grandson.It is being held in Martinsville VA which is about 100 miles East of us.They are in for a cold race day since it is only 32 here this morning and we had ice over night.We are in the mountains and that area isn't so it will be a little warmer there.
3.Watch the 3rd episode of the TV show I can Make You Thin which will come on this evening
4.Catch up on some blog reading.
5.Straighten the house.

Spring Has Sprung

This is a picture of my grandchildren playing on the sand at Myrtle Beach SC last week.They had a very enjoyable time.As you can see by the picture the beach was rather deserted.

Today and yesterday we had such lovely weather.Made it up to 70 both days.I've been spending more time outside and not as much time on my computer so I didn't blog yesterday.

Been a good week since I got some Spring cleaning done inside the other day and today I got some Spring cleaning done in our yard.

We have decided to do the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday since it will be the nicer of the two days.Our temperatures are going to cool down.Our high on Sunday is suppose to be 58 which is normal high for the date.I know it will feel cool since we have experienced warmer than normal temperatures.

We will dye some eggs on Saturday.I made sure I got all of the supplies needed since my grandson requested that we dye eggs and hunt for eggs this coming weekend.

I am a fan of Celebrity Apprentice.Since I am a country music fan I am pulling for Trace Adkins to win.The finale should be an interesting show coming on in less than an hour.

Another Cold Spring Day

I took this picture yesterday when we were experiencing some snow showers.If you look closely you can see the snow coming down.The snow would come then the next thing you know the sun would be out.It went like that off and on all day yesterday.Need to remember to take another picture this time next month to see if there is much difference in the trees.

As you can tell by the picture it still looks like winter here.Wonder when we will see some leaves on the trees? Some years its in April and other years the leaves don't appear till May.

I was reading in the newspaper over the weekend how spring flowers and trees blooming are appearing earlier and earlier every year.It made mention of the cherry blossoms in Washington DC.They now bloom around the last week of March.Years ago and I do remember this since I grew up in the Washington DC area the cherry blossoms didn't bloom till around the first week of April.There is a big Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC every April.Seems like the last few years the cherry blossoms are about gone by the time the Cherry Blossom Festival arrives.

I did some Spring cleaning yesterday.Need to get more done but it was a good start.

My Gratitudes:

1.I am grateful that my cold is about gone and it was short lived.

2.I am looking forward to seeing my grandchildren today.Haven't seen them for a week now since they have been gone on their family trip to Myrtle Beach.We are sure that our grandson will have lots to tell us when we pick him up after school in a little while.

3.I am grateful for my good health.Now to get serious about losing some weight.Saw a show on TV last night..I Can Make You Thin which had some sound advice which I will be following.Will let everyone know how I am doing on my blog.

Happy Easter

I am sitting here trying to enjoy the movie Enchanted that we rented.It hasn't held my interest the way I thought it would.Since I realized that I hadn't posted on my blog today I thought I would write while watching the movie.

We have had a lovely day today.It was bright and sunny with the temperature in the lower 60's.Tomorrow for Easter it will only be in the mid 40's.One day it is above normal and the next below normal.

It was nice to get outside this afternoon and take a walk.It was a little windy but I enjoyed the fresh air since the temperature was in the mid 60's.Our daughter and her family had nice weather in the 70's today in Myrtle Beach.

Since our grandson isn't here with us this weekend hubby and I decided to go to a restaurant that we like but our grandson doesn't care for.We went to a Mexican restaurant and enjoyed the food so much.I love a chicken dish called Pollo Yucitan.It is marinate grilled chicken served over rice with grilled tomatoes,squash and green pepper served on top of the chicken.There is a side of guacamole.That dish is so yummy.

I received an e-mail this morning from one of the female soldiers in Iraq that I wrote to back the end of December.It was such a blessing to receive an e-mail back.I e-mailed back and received another e-mail from her this evening.Bless her heart,she didn't even realize that this is Easter weekend.She must not have received any correspondence from anyone making mention of Easter like I did.That shows the importance of corresponding with our soldiers.I want them to know that they aren't forgotten.What is even more special is that this female soldier is the first one that I wrote to.She has a new physical address in Iraq so I am thinking that she has Internet connection now which she didn't have when I first wrote to her.She kept my e-mail address for almost 3 months so that makes me feel special.

1.I feel so very blessed that I heard back from the first female soldier that I wrote to back the end of December.

2.I am blessed that my cold is getting better.

3.I am grateful that my hubby found one of my pierced earrings that had fallen out when I was walking in the yard the other day.

Change In Routine

I love Easter Lilies so wanted to post this picture.Our weekend routine changed today.We usually have our grandson with us over the weekends but he is gone this weekend with his family to Myrtle Beach SC for his Spring break.

We go to a locally owned Italian Pizzeria every Friday evening with our grandson.Hubby and I went this evening and invited our younger daughter and son in law to join us.One of the waitresses mentioned that she missed seeing our grandson this evening.Two other people asked about our granson so that made us feel good.It's nice to go to a place where people know you and miss you when you aren't there.

It was a pretty day today.The temperature was up to 60 and it was sunny.Easter we will be lucky if we make it up to 45.

I saw something rather interesting on the evening news last night.We use those energy efficient light bulbs.Don't remember how long ago we replaced our light bulbs to the energy efficient light bulbs.They contain mercury.You need to be very careful with them and not let them fall and break.One lady had one break in her house and it cost her $2,000 to have it cleaned up.They also need to be disposed of as hazardous waste and not

placed with your regular trash.We have already had to replace one so I have that light bulb to dispose of correctly.I do believe they need to let the public know how dangerous those energy efficient light bulbs can be if they break.I have a package in front of me that states that you manage them in accord with disposal laws.There is a website listed on the packaging:

This is what the first day of Spring looks like here in our area of southern West Virginia.The last two days it has been in the low 60's.Our normal high is now 55.Today we are suppose to have a high of 44.

I knew not to expect a change in weather once Spring arrived.Last year we had a nice snow fall the day before Easter.They are forecasting a high of 45 for Easter here in our area.

Our grandson thinks that once Spring arrives so will the warmer temperatures.That doesn't happen here.We should start experiencing warmer weather in another month.Some years we haven't had leaves on the trees till May so you never know.

I have a cold and haven't been feeling that well this week.Our older daughter and her family left for Myrtle Beach SC this morning.That means we will have a very quiet Easter.Our grandson mentioned earlier in the week that he wants to have an Easter Egg Hunt when they get back.They will be returning home on Monday since school resumes on Tuesday.Short break since the remainder of the days next week are being used for snow make up day.Not even sure how many days they will need to make up.We haven't had any measurable snow in March so no days were missed due to wintry weather.

We are hoping that our weather next weekend will be warmer so that we can have an Easter Egg Hunt with our two grandchildren.Last year we ended up hiding the eggs in our house due to the snow on the ground.Would love to have an egg hunt in our yard.

Monday I was without my Internet service.Due to a fire in our area some fiber optic cable was melted which caused a disruption in both phone and Internet service for both businesses and homes.

My Blessings:

1.Really missed my Internet connection on Monday so I realized what a blessing it is to have Internet connection most days.

2.I am grateful that our younger daughter got the job that she applied for a few weeks ago.She will be doing something that she enjoys doing and her pay will be much better.

3.I am grateful that I had enough prize points accumulated in my one online consumer panel account that I could order new luggage for my husband for our trip to Disney World in August.

This is a picture of my birthday cake that we enjoyed last October.I love butter cream icing on a bakery cake.As you can notice on the cake I share the birthday cake with our oldest daughter.She was born the day before my birthday.

There is a funny thing about the birthday cake.My grandchildren call me Nana so I had that written on the cake.For the second year in a row the same person in the grocery store bakery must have decorated the cake.Nana is spelled NaNA for the second year in a row.Need to check to see if I have a picture from 2 years ago to compare.If I do I will download it to a blog after this.Stay Tuned.....

Day Before St. Patrick's Day

Since I have two pictures to use for St.Patrick's Day I thought I would go ahead and use this one today.I took a picture of the calendar page for this month.The calendar is my grandson's school system's calendar that they hand out at the beginning of every school year.This picture was painted by one of the children in the school system.The child that painted this picture is in elementary school.

Don't know if this has ever happened to any of you.This morning I was going to cook my grandson's favorite sausage for breakfast.This is the only time all week that we have sausage.It was a roll of sausage.I went to cut it open and noticed that it smelled really bad.This has never happened to me.I took it back to the store and got a refund.I had no desire to have any more of that sausage for awhile so just had my money refunded.I had placed it in a plastic grocery bag and tied it.Didn't want that smell to get out.

Didn't even think to check for a company web site till later this evening.I found their website and left a comment on their comment form.I'll let you know if I hear back and what they have to say.I am wondering if the store has a policy in place as to how t0 deal with food products which are spoiled and returned.

I watched the NASCAR race that was held at the Bristol Raceway which is about 100 miles from us.Would love to see a race there someday but those tickets are very hard to get.We may have to settle for a Nationwide race in the next year or so.Hard to believe that we were on the actual track back in December for their Holiday of Lights Show.It was nice to see Ward Burton win today.

First Daffodil Blooming

I thought that my first daffodil would be blooming today so went outside a little bit ago and sure enough it was.I took a few pictures to capture the first bloom.It is a rainy cold day in the 40's.I noticed that my Weather Pixie showed the sun shining which is all wrong.Wonder where they get the current conditions? The current temperature is correct but showing the sun is incorrect.

We took our 6 year old grandson to the movies this afternoon to see the movie Horton Hears a Who.It was a very enjoyable movie.Our grandson really enjoyed it.

I was so sad to see that a tornado did such damage in downtown Atlanta yesterday evening.The odd thing is that it did some damage to the CNN building but they remained on the air.I was flipping TV channels last night and a bulletin came across the CNN channel stating that a possible tornado had hit the downtown area.Guess the damage to that building wasn't too severe since they remained on air.

Hope those that live in Georgia and may be reading this are all safe.Just checked to see if CNN was on the air and it is.They were running a segment about a tornado hitting an area in Polk county north of Atlanta.

We lived right outside of the city limits of Atlanta back in 1975 when a tornado hit the Governor's Mansion.That tornado touched down about 5-10 miles from where we lived.All we had were the rain and thunderstorms.I read online that tornado was the last one to hit within the Atlanta city limits before last night's tornado hit downtown Atlanta.

A Good Day

Today has been like an early Spring day although Spring won't arrive for another week.Decided to get outside and take a walk since it was still so nice out.I walked two miles.I believe I have finally adjusted to the time change.I wasn't dragging today like I was earlier in the week.

This is another picture that I took on our road trip yesterday.I love the layer of mountains shown in the picture.

I received a comment on my blog concerning our trips to the VA hospital for my hubby's doctor's appointments.He is a disabled Viet Nam veteran and gets excellent care at the VA hospital.He sees a primary care doctor every three months and has appointments with a podiatrist technician who keeps a check on his feet since he is a diabetic.He also has various other appointments every few months.Thank you for your concern.

I wear my I-Pod while walking.I was so thrilled that the last song that I listened to is one of my favorites so I was able to bring it right up on my I-Pod.It is an old song by Kenny Chesney ..Baptism.I did a google search and came up with the lyrics.I wanted to keep the lyrics so thought I'd share them with everyone:

1.Our almost 7 year old grandson lost his first tooth today.He is so excited!

2.Hubby had a good checkup with is primary care doctor yesterday

3.Grateful for this lovely weather this evening so that I could once again get outside and take a nice walk.It felt so good to take a nice walk in the fresh air and listen to some wonderful music while walking.

Is Spring Around The Corner?

I took this picture from the car when we were on the road for my hubby's doctor's appointment.I always enjoy this view while riding by the car so was quite glad that I was able to get a picture of it today.It was a pretty day for a car trip.The sun was shining brightly and it was in the mid 50's.

The town we go to for my hubby's VA hospital doctor's appointments is about 100 miles east of us.Their area is starting to look more like spring.I saw trees with hints of green which we don't have here yet.They are at a much lower elevation than we are.

I am beginning to see some daffodils blooming in our area.Mine aren't blooming yet but mine seem to bloom later than others since we are on a hill.Our back yard temperature a little cooler at night due to the higher elevation.

Yesterday was a busy day.We watched our 3 year old granddaughter since our daughter wasn't feeling well.We had a fun day together but I noticed that I never got around to writing anything here.Guess when life gets busy my blogging takes a back seat.

Ludlow Porch

I did a Google search and came up with the following information.He is Lewis Grizzard's step brother and not cousin as I had stated in my previous post.I am now going to catch up with what Ludlow has been up to.Guess I have another gratitude...found information concerning a humorist that I enjoyed back in the early 80's.

A Lovely Day

Took this picture the other day of my daffodils coming up.Won't be too much longer till they are blooming.

When I picked up my grandson today after school I noticed the pretty crocus that were blooming in the flower bed in front of the school.I pointed them out to my grandson.Just seeing those crocus blooming brought a smile to my face.

Still trying to adjust to the change in time.I have been feeling rather tired today.From what I have been hearing the change to Daylight Savings time affects your body just like jet lag does.

I was visiting a friend's blog and got a smile on my face when she mentioned enjoying Lewis Grizzard's newspaper columns 17 years ago.Lewis has since passed away.He was a local Atlanta Journal columnist when we lived in the Atlanta the first 12 years of marriage from 1973-1985.We also, at one time owned all of his books.He was a humorist and enjoyed writing about southern ways.He would also mention his cousin " Ludlow Porch" Wonder whatever happened to Ludlow? Ludlow had a local radio show in the Atlanta area.

Today's Blessings:

1.My 6 year old grandson once again got straight A's on his report card.I enjoy helping him with his homework every day which is also a blessing.He is a special needs child.He was born 6 weeks early and so tiny.We are so blessed that our grandson's only weakness is his weak hands.He has the help of an Occupational Therapist once a week to help strengthen his hands.His handwriting is improving.

2.I am grateful that my 3 year old granddaughter is adjusting well to pre-k.

3.I am grateful for my special treat...Russell Stover Sugar Free Chocolate Covered Mint Patties.I keep them in the freezer and enjoy one a day.They are so refreshing and quite yummy!

Time Change

I am showing a picture that my 10 year old great niece painted.I was looking at my calendar today and remembered that one of my great nieces paintings is used in the calendar.The calendar is the school system calendar that is distributed at the beginning of each school year.I was admiring the painting of the Leprechaun that is used for this month then remembered that my great niece's painting is used later in the year.Wish the shot of her painting turned out better but at least you can see that she is a very talented 10 year old.

This time change really affects me.I have felt so tired all day.It is only what is usually 10 PM and I am already feeling like I am ready for bed.I usually don't go to bed till midnight.Guess my mindset is already on daylight savings time.

I know tomorrow morning will be a struggle for my daughter getting our two grandchildren up for school.It will be dark when they get up which will make matters worse.

My Gratitudes:

1.I am grateful that our soon to be 7 year old grandson still enjoys and wants to come to our house to spend the weekend with us.We all look forward to our weekends together.I asked him today at what age does he think that he will no longer want to spend the weekends with us.He said 31.We are loving his answer!

2.I am grateful that our grandson enjoys the spaghetti I make as much as his granddaddy.It is one of their favorite meals.

3.I am grateful that warmed up into the 30's today.I did not care for the low of 15 last night!

Back To Reality

Took this picture this morning when the rain was changing over to snow.

We have been having a wintry day.This morning it started out at 40 with rain coming down.Then the rain turned to snow then back to rain and finally back to snow.

I was outside this morning walking our dog and saw the rain change over to snow.Those were some huge snowflakes.Had my camera with me since I wanted to take some pictures of the progress of my daffodils.One is starting to bud.

It amazed me to be outside and watch the rain changing over to snow.I was enjoying the huge snowflakes and took a few pictures.

I am sitting here with a throw over my lap.Been cold all evening.The temperature has dropped down to 21 and heading for the mid teens overnight.Looks like we may get about an inch of snow.The roads are covered and have already been treated by the town trucks.Our town is full of hills and we are on one.They can become quite slick when it snows.

We had days in the 50's and 60's this week so when the temperature drops like this it feels even colder to us.

Three Blessings:

1.I love my hair cut.It was long over due.Won't let it get that long between hair cuts again.

2.My granddaugter is adjusting well to Pre-K.Her teacher sent a note home on Friday stating that our granddaughter was adjusting well and had a good day.

3.Our winds haven't been as strong today as they had predicted.

Be Careful Where You Plant Them

I took this picture back in January of the pine trees that are on the back side of our yard.

Our neighbor had brought it to our attention that one of the pine trees had started to lean and was heading towards her house.We hadn't even noticed that since that tree was hidden by the other trees.We made arrangements to have the tree cut down this morning.

Before the guys even got here the tree had already fallen on her roof.It happened to be a tall tree without many limbs so the part that landed on her roof didn't do any damage.Having it fall like that made it easier for the guys to take it down.

We have lived here going on 10 years this coming August.Why the former homeowners would plant a pine tree right on the property line is beyond us.Our neighbor contacted the former owner since she knew them and he told her that he had indeed planted those pine trees.They were only seedlings at the time.I am wondering how long ago he planted them since they have grown so much.

It is a good reminder to everyone to remember that trees do grow and to be careful where you plant them.Make sure that they have plenty of room to grow and that they might not cause any damage in future years.We have had some very strong winds this year which had caused the tree to come down.

Another View of The New River

Since I wrote yesterday about The New River Gorge and the jet boat ride I thought that I would show a picture of The New River that I took from the jet boat.

We went in August a few years ago and it was a hazy day.Wish the picture was a little crisper.

This is the second jet boat ride we have experienced.The first jet boat ride was taken in the Myrtle Beach area.That was a fantastic ride out in the ocean.I would highly recommend a jet boat ride if you have the chance.

1.It is a blessing to now wake up in the mornings and once again hear the birds chirping and singing.Spring isn't too far behind.

2.I am grateful that our 3 year old granddaughter had a good first day of pre-k yesterday.

ABC WEDNESDAY.......Letter "G".....GORGE



We visited the NEW RIVER GORGE here in West Virginia a few years ago.It is located about an hour's drive from our home.We went to Hawks Nest State Park to enjoy the GORGE.If you notice in the picture there is a tram that you can ride to the bottom of the GORGE.Once down to the bottom we rode a jet boat to experience the river.The boat ride was so much fun and something that I would love to experience again.I have copied and pasted information concerning the jet boat rides that I got from the state park website:




Jetboat Rides
Ride the scenic tram to the bottom of the New River Gorge Canyon. There you will climb aboard “Miss M. Rocks”, a 21 foot covered Jetboat, where a combination of speed and power will conquer the currents of the New River. See the world's second longest single arch steel bridge towering 876 feet above you, giving you an advantage for great photographs. The Jetboat runs rain or shine. No special clothing required. Tickets may be purchased at the tram office. Allow one hour for your adventure. Arrive at boat dock area 15 minutes prior to ticket departure time. Jetboat prices include tram ride.



The New River Gorge area is an area that is popular with white water rafters.

What Could Have Been

This Picture was taken in January 1994 after we received a couple of feet of snow.I am attempting to dig our car out.Where we lived at that time we had to park our car on the street.Wasn't much fun when we received lots of snow since we had to dig our cars out and hope our parking spot was still waiting for us on our return home.People in our area who had to park on the street went as far as putting folding chairs or whatever they had to mark their parking space until their return home.At that time my husband's shift at work ended at midnight.I decided to mark the parking spot so that he would have some where to park.The street where we parked was usually empty and there was no problem with parking.When it snowed the people that lived on the hill above our street would park where we normally parked so that made it hard for us to have our usual parking space.

I wrote all of that above to state that we are glad that the 1.5 inches of rain with more to come is only rain.If this had been snow we would be digging out.At least we have a driveway now and once we clear the snow off the cleared drive way is all ours.

There is a flood warning out for our neighboring Virginia county.When we were out late this afternoon we saw some streams that were about to come out of their banks.Town crews have been busy today unclogging the sewer drains for the excess water to run off.We are on a hill so the water rushes down our hill which means the flat road below has usually has some flooding concerns.Glad we have two ways in and out.When we left this afternoon we went down the hill.The road below us was starting to have some standing water.We decided to come home the other direction which is down over the hill.Didn't want to drive through the standing water on the road below us.

My Blessings:

1.We are blessed that we are getting this rain.We needed it since we are already one inch below normal for the year.February was a dry month for us.

2.I feel blessed that I am able to supply my grandson's first grade classrooms with some things from Australia.Their classroom will be representing Australia for the book fair open house on April 1.I was fortunate to have a wind chime,an Australian Boomerang and a Perth Australia refrigerator magnet.They all came from a cyber friend I had back in the early 90's.We are no longer in touch but what a blessing it is to share the things I have with others.The only thing I regret is that about a month ago I was going through a box of stuff I had kept that she had sent me.I threw away a newspaper,a calendar and a grocery ad.All of those would have been quite interesting to share too.

3.My daughter came by with my granddaughter this morning.They stayed a few hours.My granddaughter did not want to go home.I feel so very blessed that my 3 year old granddaughter loves her Nana so very much that she wants to be with me and not go home.That really makes my day!

Out and About On A Pretty Day

We were out on a day trip today for hubby's doctor's appointment at the VA hospital.Could not have asked for a prettier day.The sun was shining brightly and it was in the upper 60's.DH has another appointment next Wednesday.Hope the weather is just as nice but being March we can still have winter weather.

This is a picture of some of the mountains we are blessed to see as we travel along on the highway.The mountain views are so scenic and make the trip that much more pleasurable.

We did some shopping at Wal-Mart over the weekend.I found a purse that I love and bought it.Didn't know if I'd like it since it is smaller than what I usually use.It holds all of my essentials and is much lighter than my usual purses which makes it that much nicer.Want to get another one since it also came in a denim fabric which I also liked.

One of the blogs that I enjoy visiting always has three blessings listed every day.I love that idea and hope you don't mind that I borrow it Karen.I always try to make the best of my days and remember all of the special blessings,small or large.Here are three blessings for today:

1.Had a nice time talking to an older veteran while my husband was seeing his doctor.It was nice to sit and chat and enjoy the company of this veteran.

2. Second blessing is this lovely weather.I know it will be ending tomorrow but it has been nice while it has lasted for a few days.

3.Third blessing is the opportunity to get away for the day.It is nice to have a change of pace and take a day drive even if it is only for my hubby's doctor's appointments.

A Little of This and A Little of That

Wish I could say that the picture was taken today and that my daffodils are blooming.Well I can't.That picture was taken last March.Don't know when my daffodils will be blooming.Probably late in the month sometime.

Today was like a spring day.I turned the heat off and opened a window which is quite unusual for March.The wind wasn't blowing today which made the day even nicer.I got outside for some fresh air.It was so nice to just walk around in the yard without any snow and ice on the ground.

I watched the Oprah show The Big Give.Would love to see that show go to at least 90 minutes.I'd love to see more the behind the scenes goings on as they plan for their big gives.There was probably a lot of editing that went on.I enjoy the Celebrity Apprentice Show.They show what goes what goes on to accomplish a project.I would like to see more of that on The Big Give but maybe I am asking for too much.

We are planning our trip to Disney World in August.I enjoy the planning aspect.To make things easier on us we have decided to use the dining plan but that means we have to plan and decide ahead where we will eat and when.We are allocated one sit down meal a day and a counter meal a day.We will need to decide on the sit down meal each day and make reservations.We are leaning towards eating at the German restaurant in EPCOT and maybe Mickey's Barbecue Picnic.Still have a lot of planning to do but I am enjoying it.

If anyone has been to Disney World within the last few years and has any recommendations as to what to see and or where to eat please share.The only other time we have been there was about 25 years ago.

Goodbye to February Hello To March

The February Blogging Challenge ended yesterday.I thought that I had done pretty well having a blog listed every day.Was I ever wrong.The last laugh was on me.I hadn't even noticed that in my haste to participate in the two special picture days that I posted them late the previous days which caused me to have two posts on a few dates and none on others.I didn't even have a post listed for yesterday even though I did my Sky Watch Post late the previous evening.I tried and enjoyed the challenge even though I messed up a few times

March came in like a lamb.It was a windy sunny day with temperatures in the upper 40's which is normal for the beginning of March.We have had blizzards in March so our weather can change quite rapidly in March.Tomorrow it's going up to 60 and Monday it will be in the low 60's which will feel like Spring is in the air.
