My Dad's Passing

In my previous post I meant to write that my dad passed away unexpectantly in his sleep.He was 81 so we know he led a good life.He especially enjoyed his great grandchildren and grandchildren.

Will Return In A Few Days

My dad passed away in his sleep expectantly over night.He has been ill for a few years so we are glad that he didn't have to suffer too much with cancer.

I will return in a few days.

Holiday Light Displays

Yesterday we drove down to Bristol TN which is 100 miles south of us.We went to Bristol Motor Speedway to see their Speedway in Lights Display.The displays were fantastic.The highlight was that our daughter got to drive on the actual speedway that the NASCAR drivers drive on.

Baby It's Cold Outside

We are having the coldest temperatures of the fall season.It was all of 9 when I got up this morning and Winter hasn't even arrived yet.

I wathced a very enjoyable show last night.It's the battle of the choirs.I enjoy listening to choirs and these choirs did not disappoint.The series will run through Thursday night.There are 5 choirs and one will be eliminated tonight.Hate the thought that one will be eliminated tonight but that is the premise of the show.Each evening one choir will be eliminated until one choir is picked as the winner.Each choir consists of 20 people who were picked by the celebrity choir leader.

Enjoying a Snowy Morning

When I went out to pick up the newspaper from the driveway I enjoyed the wonders of the snow all around me.I love snow and enjoy taking pictures of snow.

I took this picture of snow on one of our shrubs.Wanted to capture the picture before the sun melts the snow away.

It is sunny now so most of the snow will more than likely melt away today.Would love to have this same scene a week from today for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Today has been a snowy day.Sure beats the freezing rain that we were experiencing last night.Glad to see it change to snow.

I just went outside and snapped this picture.You can see the snow coming down.I measured 3 inches.We can get another two inches over night.It looks so pretty outside.I love snow as long as I don't have the need to drive in it.

Counting My Blessings Continued

I was having problems last night with my post so I sent what I had and will continue here.

Yesterday I mentioned my daughter's bee sting which happened in the morning.

Now for our second blessing yesterday.I was driving on a 4 lane divided highway when a car going in the wrong direction drove by me going quite fast.Thankfully I was in the slow lane.I had noticed that the car ahead that was traveling in the left lane had to take fast action and get over in the slow lane.Once I realized what was happening I moved fast to the left to get out of the way.I looked in my rear view mirror and noticed that the car going the wrong lane had its brake lights on.They were taking action to get out going the wrong way.Later after picking up our grandson from school I went back on the same highway going the other direction.I wanted to ease my mind and make sure that an accident hadn't happened behind us.Thankfully there weren't any accidents.Later in the day I heard on the news that an accident on the Interstate was caused by a driver going the wrong the way.It reminded me of what could have happened with the driver that went by us going the wrong way.

I feel so blessed that our daughter was treated immediately for her adverse reaction to the bee sting and that nothing happened when the car was going in the wrong direction.

Feeling Very Blessed

Now that today is almost at the end I thought that I would write about two blessings today.

The first concerns my 30 year old daughter.She was stung by a bee today.Yes stung by a bee in December.Since our weather has been much warmer than usual the bees are buzzing around.She had a severe reaction to the bee sting and had to rush to the ER.Her throat was closing up on her and she got hives.We are blessed that she received such good care at the hospital.She didn't have to wait and they took care of her right away.After having steriods through an IVC the reaction subsided.

Isn't This Lovely

We took a road trip yesterday with our daughter and granddaughter.Our granddaughter had an appointment with an orthopedic specialist.She has a tendency to turn her feet in when she walks.The doctor said that she should out grow it and that he has seen improvements since he last saw her about a year ago.Corrective shoes or braces would not make much difference.

Since I wasn't driving I was able to take a picture of this lovely home that I have always admired.It is located way out in the country about an hour from us.

Christmas Wreath

My youngest daughter decorated this wreath for me.I will proudly hang it on our front door every year.

Oh The Memories

I've been having fun using the scanner that is included with my new printer.I've been scanning some pictures to my computer that I have wanted to have available for blogs.

This is a picture of my grandson and me taken back in January 2002.My grandson was 9 months at the time.He had recently been fitted for his DOC Band.We had to take trips to Charlotte twice a month to have the DOC Band adjusted.That meant a 360 mile round trip in one day but it was well worth our time and effort to help our grandson's head be shaped properly.

Say Cheese

This is my 3 year old granddaughter posing for me and saying" Say Cheese" while posing.She isn't still and posing for me very often so I was gladly taking the opportunity to take her picture.Hopefully more opportunities to take her picture will come my way as she gets older.

Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg TN

I took this picture of a fish when we were at the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg TN the day after Thanksgiving.Our grandson enjoyed seeing all of the fish at the aquarium.It is a great place to go for both young and old.

Snowy Day

We had our first measurable snow today.Woke up to around an inch of snow on the ground.I took some pictures when I went out to the driveway to get the newspaper.We had about 2 inches of snow on the ground then.

I love snow and enjoy it whenever it snows.Guess it helps that I don't have to get out and drive in it.If I was one that had to get out and drive in it when the roads I don't think I would enjoy snow as much.Schools were closed today due to the roads conditions being so bad.There were numerous accidents since we are in the mountains with hills all over the place.We are on a hill and a car tried to make it up our hill and couldn't.They had to back down and park in a pullover area then walk up the hill.You can usually make it up the hill as far as our house but that is when people start having problems.Glad we don't live any further up the hill.

The Christmas Season Through a Child's Eyes

I captured my grandson as he was enjoying the Christmas Show at The Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge,TN.He is 6 and at a wonderful age to enjoy all that life has to offer a child.
