More Views Going Up Our Hill

These are 3 more views of our hill as I was walking up it.Our house is to the right on the top picture.You can barely see the entrance to our driveway towards the top of the picture.

I am so glad that we don't live any further up the hill.When it is snowy weather and the plow hasn't come through yet, cars can usually make it to our house but then need to turn around in our driveway.

A family with 3 girls lives three houses up from us.They have to walk down the hill the morning to catch the school bus and up to their house in the afternoon after getting off of the school bus.

My Walk Continued....

The other day when I was out walking on my hill route I decided to take some pictures using my cell phone.This is the view I see at the bottom of our hill before I start making the climb upward.I took a few more pictures going up the hill that I will share in the next post.

It was an overcast morning when I was walking on Thursday so the pictures aren't all that clear.

My Walking

I just got in from my walk around the block and thought I would write about it.Since this blog started out as a way for me to track my walking I thought that I would get back to writing about my walking.

You are probably wondering what the picture I posted has to do with walking.This is the road across the street from our house that is at the beginning of my walk.I have decided to add in this hilly route to give me more of a challenge.

I start by walking across our street to the hilly road.It is a very scenic secluded walk.The road goes up then flattens a little before it winds around and starts going down hill.I am then at the flat road below our street.I cross the street and walk on the sidewalk.

I get to walk a little ways on the flat sidewalk before reaching our hilly street.It is then uphill to our house.

I tend to walk a little too fast when I am by myself and boy do I feel it when I am walking up the hill to our house.I am hoping that the more I walk it that the better I will be feeling while walking that route.The hill up to our house is strenuous for me.Hoping that after walking that route awhile that it won't feel quite so strenuous.Sure will be nice not having to dread the hill at the end of the walk.

My 8 year old grandson suggested that we walk the hilly route the other day.Since he wanted to walk that route I was game.When I walk with him I tend to walk slower since he can't keep up with my faster pace.I measured my steps when walking with him.I accumulated 2300 steps on the walks with him.While walking that route alone I accumulate about 1800 steps.The funny thing is that I had no idea that I would accumulate more steps by walking slower,lol.

I walked that route Tuesday morning by myself then my grandson wanted me to walk it with him after school that same day.Didn't walk that route yesterday due to the weather.Wanted to get the walk in today before the rain comes again.

Soccer Season

Today is my blogaversary.Thought I should post something so thought I would write about our grandson's soccer season.

Our soccer season has gone into overtime due to the rainy weather we have experienced in May.The season was suppose to end tomorrow but will extend into next weekend.

It will be a bittersweet time since the girls and boys will be split into single sex teams starting next season as they move up to the next age bracket.Our grandson has been playing with some of the same girls since he started playing soccer 4 years ago.I can remember that it was 4 years ago since at the time our granddaughter was a year old and she will be turning 5 this fall.The boys and girls on the team are all 8 years old and it has been so nice watching them grow up over the last 4 years.I am really going to miss the girls.One season our grandson was the only boy on the team but that didn't matter to him or the girls.They all got along really well.

Most of the boys on their team came along within the last two years so you can understand why I have such a fondness for the girls since he has been playing with them longer.There will be a team party next Sunday.It will be sad knowing that our grandson will no longer be playing with the girls.They all attend the same school and will be moving up to intermediate school together.The odd thing is that our grandson has never been in the same class in school as any of the other children on the soccer team.Who knows,he might be in the same class as some of the girls on his team next school year.That would be nice:)

A Smile At Last

We are so thrilled with how well our granddaughter's preschool Spring picture turned out.She is actually smiling.She was frowning in her fall picture so we were hoping for a better Spring picture and we got it.

Mariah is 4 1/2 and has another year of preschool before starting kindergarten.Grandson Jeremy is 8 and will be going to the intermediate school in the fall for grades 3-5.He is looking forward to the new school.On the 8th the second graders along with parents will walk to the intermediate school to tour the new school and meet the third grade teachers.That should be fun.Just hope it will be a nice day for the walk.

I took this picture last summer when we went on a two mile hike in the Cascades area.It was an invigorating walk with lots of views of water flowing over the rocks near our path.At the end of the hike the Cascades Water Falls awaits you.

The Washington Monument

I was going through my pictures stored on a program on my computer.I really love this picture of The Washington Monument that I took last May when sightseeing last year in Washington D.C..

Hope I didn't share it last year but if I did,oh well...here it is again.
