Soccer Season

Today is my blogaversary.Thought I should post something so thought I would write about our grandson's soccer season.

Our soccer season has gone into overtime due to the rainy weather we have experienced in May.The season was suppose to end tomorrow but will extend into next weekend.

It will be a bittersweet time since the girls and boys will be split into single sex teams starting next season as they move up to the next age bracket.Our grandson has been playing with some of the same girls since he started playing soccer 4 years ago.I can remember that it was 4 years ago since at the time our granddaughter was a year old and she will be turning 5 this fall.The boys and girls on the team are all 8 years old and it has been so nice watching them grow up over the last 4 years.I am really going to miss the girls.One season our grandson was the only boy on the team but that didn't matter to him or the girls.They all got along really well.

Most of the boys on their team came along within the last two years so you can understand why I have such a fondness for the girls since he has been playing with them longer.There will be a team party next Sunday.It will be sad knowing that our grandson will no longer be playing with the girls.They all attend the same school and will be moving up to intermediate school together.The odd thing is that our grandson has never been in the same class in school as any of the other children on the soccer team.Who knows,he might be in the same class as some of the girls on his team next school year.That would be nice:)

A Smile At Last

We are so thrilled with how well our granddaughter's preschool Spring picture turned out.She is actually smiling.She was frowning in her fall picture so we were hoping for a better Spring picture and we got it.

Mariah is 4 1/2 and has another year of preschool before starting kindergarten.Grandson Jeremy is 8 and will be going to the intermediate school in the fall for grades 3-5.He is looking forward to the new school.On the 8th the second graders along with parents will walk to the intermediate school to tour the new school and meet the third grade teachers.That should be fun.Just hope it will be a nice day for the walk.

I took this picture last summer when we went on a two mile hike in the Cascades area.It was an invigorating walk with lots of views of water flowing over the rocks near our path.At the end of the hike the Cascades Water Falls awaits you.

The Washington Monument

I was going through my pictures stored on a program on my computer.I really love this picture of The Washington Monument that I took last May when sightseeing last year in Washington D.C..

Hope I didn't share it last year but if I did,oh well...here it is again.

Didn't realize that I hadn't posted anything since April 20th.How the days fly by.

My New Hanging Basket

We went to the garden center at Lowe's over the weekend.Oh the pretty flowers they had.

It was way too soon to look at flowers since our last frost date isn't till May 10th.We were at Lowe's to find cactus for our grandson's school project.We found the cacti that Jeremy liked but then it was on to better things...looking at all of the lovely flowers.

I came across this lovely hanging basket and had to have it.I learned my lesson last year when I saw a hanging basket that I loved.At that time I said that I would come back in a few days and get that hanging basket.I went back and they had sold out of the lovely hanging basket that I so loved.

This time when I saw this lovely hanging basket I bought it even though we can still have some frosty nights.I will need to remember to bring it in whenever the temperature is going to drop in the 30's at night.

I had never seen flowers with such pretty colors.This flower is called Viola.The tag states that it grows fast so we will see what happens.

Our grandson loves going to the garden center at Lowe's so he enjoyed looking at the flowers with me and especially all of the garden water fountains on display.

Now the problem is to keep the second grade fingers away from the thorny cacti in Jeremy's desert project.

This will be the first of many visits to Lowe's garden center this Spring and Summer.We will return.........

My Potted Tulips

About a week ago I bought a container of potted tulips.The tulips hadn't started blooming yet so I had no idea what the color would be.

I have been watching it open all week and today I saw just how beautiful it is.I took a picture to share here.

I have found that I am really enjoying the potted flowers and watching them burst forth in color.I have another pot with what was suppose to be Mylar tulips but honestly they don't look like tulips.I am thinking that it is a begonia but I could be wrong.It has had such a wonderful bloom and fragrance.

I also didn't realize what a nice fragrance tulips have.I believe this is the beginning of having many potted flower bulbs in years to come.They add such nice color to the house and it is so much fun to watch them bloom forth.

Rainy Days

We have had such a rainy Spring season.This morning when I was outside walking our dog I noticed how the rain drops were clinging to a tree branch.I loved how it looked.

When I brought our dog inside I took my camera outside to capture some pictures.It was raining harder when I went outside so I couldn't gather the pictures the way I want.I took a few pictures.

This picture shows how the raindrops are clinging to the tree branch and how dark and dreary it is outside.Not only are we experiencing rainy days but they have also been rather chilly rainy days.It is only in the 40's today.
