Isn't This The Cutest Thing!

My grandson Jeremy made this in school a few weeks ago and this is the first opportunity that I have it to use it.It is snowing here.This is our first snowfall of the season.I measured 4 inches of snow at 10 AM.Measured again a few minutes ago.We are now up to 5 inches of snow and it continues to fall.The National Weather Service was predicting 2-4 inches of snow today.We have surpassed that amount and the snow continues to fall:)

Just glad we don't have to get out in it since I don't care to drive in snow and ice.Hope we can have at least a little snow for Christmas!

My Snowman

I have decided to start a collection of snowmen this Christmas season.This is a find that I found over the Thanksgiving weekend.It is a musical snowman that opens up.I am so happy with this find.I got it for only $5.They are sold on QVC in a set of 4 of different musical ornaments.I found this at a store that sells QVC closeouts.Since this set of ornaments is new on QVC this season I am thinking that maybe some sets got broken up and this local closeout store is able to sell them individually.I love my musical snowman!

Oh,To Be Young Again!!

Our grandson Jeremy's intermediate school had a Halloween party on Friday.There were two huge inflatables provided by the PTO.They were placed outside of the school.

I am showing a picture of the larger inflatable.The children in grades 3-5 had a blast on the two inflatables.Our grandson struggled some climbing up the rope ladder to go down the slide.He has weak muscle tone.He had the biggest grin coming down the slide area after conquering the rope ladder.I stood there camera ready to capture the picture.His granddaddy and another mother were encouraging him as he struggled on the rope ladder.We were all so proud of him the way he kept trying so hard to accomplish the goal of going down the slide area.At first he wasn't going to do it but got up the courage to try and is so glad that he did it.The smile on his face tells it all.His classmates and teacher all congratulated him conquering the rope ladder.

After having fun on the inflatables,each grade level had time alone in the gym for refreshments and Halloween music.All of the children were dressed in their Halloween costumes which made for a festive time.The PTO provided orange ice cream floats and decorated cookies for the children.They were allowed to run around in the gym and have a wonderful time together.I got warm fuzzies watching the children having so much fun:)

My Granddaughter is Growing Up

I took this picture this evening when we took both grandchildren out to eat at a locally owned pizza place.They both look forward to this weekly meal out together with Ken and me.

Granddaughter Mariah is growing up.Hard to believe that a week from today she will be turning 5.These years have flown by.So glad she is actually wanting to smile and pose for pictures now.Back a few months ago whenever she saw a camera she would either hide her face or frown.Glad she is cooperating with my cameras now.It makes for a very happy Nana!

Happy Nana Birthday

It's my birthday and I will complain if I want to.I ordered my birthday cake from a local grocery store bakery which will remain nameless.

The cake was suppose to read Happy Birthday Nana.What do you see? Happy Nana Birthday.

It wasn't decorated the way I requested.I requested white icing which I got.The rest is all WRONG.The cake was suppose to be trimmed in green with yellow roses.This doesn't look anything like that!

Sure hope it is fresh.I have had to take a stale birthday cake back to another store for a refund a few years back.If it wasn't for my grandson enjoying birthday cake celebrations so much I would have refused this cake.

I am going to search my files for a picture of a previous birthday cake that was done right to show what I really wanted!

Feels Like Winter Already

So glad I took this picture two weeks ago.I took this picture outside our front door looking across the street to the wooded area.What a lovely view we have in the autumn.Here it is two weeks later and it feels like winter already.Our trees changed earlier than usual this year.There are still leaves on the trees but most have turned brown and ready to fall if they haven't already.

It is only 40 outside with a chance of rain mixed with snow over night.

Grandson Jeremy was suppose to have soccer playoffs this weekend.It has been cancelled due to three factors:the weather forecast,lots of sick players and poor field conditions.We are so glad that the play offs were cancelled since it is too cold for the children to be playing soccer when most have them have either been sick or are sick already.

Our grandchildren have had the illness that has been going around in our area.They are calling it an upper respiratory infection but our grandson seemed to have all of the flu symptoms even though the test for flu came back negative.

The week ahead looks to be rather nice compared to the week just ended.We can only hope!
