Here Comes A Wave

Grandson Jeremy is waiting for the wave to come and get him.He enjoyed jumping the waves.

Took this picture of both grandchildren playing in the sand together.They love,love,love playing in the sand and the ocean.I don't remember our two daughters enjoying the beach as much as our two grandchildren do.

Playing in the Sand

This is granddaughter Mariah playing in the sand at Isle of Palms Beach SC.She and her big brother Jeremy loved playing in the sand and the ocean.They are right at home at the beach.It struck me funny how the beach toys are in a circle around her.It wasn't planned that way but made for a cute picture.

Fort Sumter

This is a view of Fort Sumter taken from the Charleston Harbor Cruise.Our boat did not stop at Fort Sumter but slowed down for picture ops.

We have had the pleasure of visiting three Civil War historical places this year.Fort Sumter is where the Civil War began.The end of June we visited Gettysburg which was the turning point of The Civil War.

Last November we stopped at Appomatox Court House on our way home from Virginia Beach.That is where the Civil War ended.We want to go back to Appomatox Court House since it was raining when we were there which cut our visit short.

Arthur J.Ravenel Bridge

I took this picture of the Ravenel Bridge from the deck of the USS Yorktown.The bridge links Charleston SC to Mount Pleasant, SC.The beauty of the bridge is unforgettable.It is North America's longest cable stay span.It has 8 lanes of traffic and a 12 foot shared pedestrian and bicycle shared lane.

Don't know if I would walk across the bridge with traffic going by.We have walked over The New River Gorge Bridge but that is when it is closed to traffic for the annual Bridge Day in October.

Cots for Sleeping on USS Yorktown

Hubby Ken is standing beside the sleeping arrangements on the USS Yorktown.Would love to see a demonstration od how they get on and off of those cots.It was really hot on the Yorktown so Ken looks rather drained.
